Insurance claims
Glass damage is covered by most Québec auto policies. Bring your policy number — we take care of the rest.
How we handle it
-
Coverage check
Before anyone touches the vehicle. We look at what your policy provides for glass damage, and what that means for you.
-
Opening the claim
We build the file with your insurer and tell you exactly what, if anything, is left for you to pay.
-
The work
Repair or replacement, at the shop or at your place.
-
Billing
Direct to the insurer where your policy allows it. Otherwise you get an itemised invoice to submit.
What to have on hand
- Your insurer's name and your policy number
- The vehicle's licence plate
- Year, make and model
- Roughly when and how the damage happened
Your deductible
The amount is written into your contract, under the glass damage section — and it is not always the same as your collision deductible. Some policies carry a reduced or even zero deductible for a chip repair rather than a full replacement. One more reason not to let a chip grow.
And your premium?
That is your insurer's call, not ours. A glass claim is not treated the same way as a collision claim, but the exact effect depends on your contract. Check with your broker or insurer before authorising the work — we can wait, and we would rather you decided with the facts in hand.
If you'd rather not involve insurance
No problem, and it is sometimes the right maths when the deductible approaches the cost of the work. We give you a price, you pay directly, and the file ends there.
Worth knowing
- Coverage checked before the work
- Claim opened and followed up
- Direct billing where the policy allows
- Price confirmed before we start
- Direct payment possible, no claim

What people ask us most
Will my premium go up?
That is your insurer's decision. A glass claim is not treated like a collision, but the exact effect depends on your policy. Ask your broker before authorising the work.
What is my deductible?
It is in your contract, under the glass damage section, and it often differs from the collision one. Some policies reduce or waive it for a repair rather than a replacement.
Which insurers do you work with?
We handle glass damage claims generally. Give us your insurer's name and your policy number and we will tell you exactly how your file will go.
Can I choose my own shop, or does my insurer decide?
In Québec the choice of shop is yours. An insurer may recommend a supplier, but the decision stays with you.
How long does opening a claim take?
Not long — usually the length of a phone call. What stretches a file out is a policy number nobody can find, or a part on order. Not the paperwork.
